Are we there yet?

Most of us have heard the words "are we there yet?" but Nick and I don't have to be anywhere. ....at any time.  Quite a concept to get ones head around, am working (excuse the pun) on it :)

However, since we left home on 26 April 2014 we have travelled pretty far, some 6332 klms and are now in Western Australia in Dampier, home of 'Red Dog'......

Nick and I with the statue of Red Dog

"RED DOG
THE PILBARA WANDERER
DIED NOV 21ST 1979
ERECTED BY THE MANY FRIENDS
MADE DURING HIS TRAVELS"

I am normally pretty tech savvy but this time I had some trouble setting up this blog.  I have worked on it intermittently since the beginning of May when we have been in spots with Internet access and have finally got it working, so now I will be able to post about where we are as well as some photo's.  Will also post about where we have been so far.

Back to Red Dog......a friendly Kelpie cross who lived his life hitching rides and travelling thoughout Western Australia from 1971 to his death on November 21, 1979.  He was known by many names including Pilbara Wanderer and Dog of the Northwest. His first name way Tally Ho which was given to him by his first owner who was the one who brought him to Dampier.   His was well known by the locals and travelled around Dampier, Karratha, and as far afield as Perth in the south and Broome in the North.

Dampier - a busy port.
